Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the estimate?
The configurator's estimate is calibrated against eight real cloudtec reference projects; the model holds a ±25 % tolerance per project. The 90 % confidence interval on the summary page reflects the typical spread. A subsequent discovery workshop usually narrows the band to ±15 % because open assumptions get clarified.
What does the follow-up consultation cost?
The discovery call (30 minutes) is free and non-binding. To go deeper we offer two pre-project packages: design-centric approach (personas, wireframes, visual design) and high-level specification (user stories, architecture sketch). Both come in S (5 PD, CHF 7'200), M (10 PD, CHF 14'400) or L (20 PD, CHF 28'800). You can book either without committing to implementation with cloudtec.
What happens to my data?
The configurator stores your input locally in your browser (localStorage). When you use the AI prefill we send the five briefing fields — title, description, platform type, project kind and company type — to our AI provider Anthropic in the USA for analysis. The data is not used for training purposes. If you save your configuration online, the full state lives on cloudtec servers in Switzerland and is only accessible via the 12-character configuration code.
Which industries and platform types does cloudtec cover?
cloudtec specialises in B2B platforms, customer portals, SaaS products, e-commerce, workflow applications, API-centric platforms and enterprise websites. Sectors with a strong track record: e-health, regulated SMEs, public sector, associations, staffing agencies. The configurator offers 12 platform types; the AI matches your description automatically.
Can I use the estimate as a quote?
The estimate is a grounded order-of-magnitude — not a binding quote. It works for budget approvals, vendor comparisons and discovery conversations. For a binding quote we run a half-day workshop to validate assumptions, narrow risks and lock in cornerstones. You then receive a quote with binding parameters and a tighter band.
What does "Swiss data residency" mean concretely?
All data of your production platform lives physically in Switzerland, on dedicated servers at Hosttech GmbH (ISO 27001 certified). Backups, log files and replicas don't leave Switzerland. cloudtec itself is also ISO 27001 certified. Operations follow Swiss data protection law (revDSG); confidentiality obligations extend beyond the end of the contract.
Can I come back to the configurator later?
Yes. As soon as you've entered something the system generates a configuration code in the format CT-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX and saves your input server-side. Note the code (it appears in the footer); on another device or at a later point, enter it in the sidebar "Load existing configuration" and continue.
Sketch your project in 10 minutes and receive a grounded estimate.
